Origins

With over 300 years of history, Yongchun White Crane (originally known as “crane methods”) was founded by a lady by the name of Fang Qiniang in Yongchun county in western Quanzhou city of Fujian province, China.  It has evolved to become one of the most influential forms of traditional Chinese martial art.  Its development remains important due to its rich history as an intangible cultural heritage and its relevance to modern society as a traditional Chinese martial art.
